Are you a suitable candidate for laser eye surgery?

Laser eye surgeons treat patients with corneal eye conditions, including short-sightedness, long-sightedness and astigmatism and that have been screened to ensure that they are suitable candidates for laser eye surgery.

Laser eye surgery has taken significant steps forward in the last 20 years and there are many patients that can be treated today that could not safely have treatment only a few years ago. So, even if you've been told that you are not a suitable laser eye surgery candidate, it is important that you get in touch with us and undergo a thorough screening process before you resign yourself to accepting a long relationship with your specs.

Steps in determining whether you are a candidate for eye surgery

Step 1: Call us

If you really want to know if you're a suitable LASEK or LASIK eye surgery candidate, the first thing you need to do is call us on 0845 409 2 409 to book your screening consultation. If you feel that you may have a disqualifying condition, please mention this on the phone so we can assess whether a consultation is necessary.

Don't worry, you won't be directed to a call centre based miles away when you call us. Instead, you'll reach someone who has hands on experience with patients and is intimately knowledgeable of what happens during a laser procedure. In fact, many of our patients can tell they've reached a professional from the moment their call is first answered.

During the phone call, we'll take the time to get to know who you are and why you want this done, so we're sure we can deliver on what you're looking for, before we invite you to come in and see us.

Step 2: Attend a free consultation

At the consultation, which is complimentary, your optometrist will take the time to get to know you and examine your eyes in thorough detail. Instead of a technician with no more than on the job training, we will only allow qualified optometrists to test and examine your eyes.

After all, we're not about to leave anything to chance, so you can be assured that the person performing your examination has a degree in optometry and really understands what they're looking at.

After a thorough assessment, your optometrist will usually have all of the information necessary to give you a confident recommendation. At your consultation, even if you're not a suitable candidate for laser eye surgery, we'll give you a clear view on what your options are.

The two most commonly performed laser eye surgery treatments are LASIK and LASEK. For patients not found to be suitable LASEK or LASIK eye surgery candidates, there are other, non-laser eye treatment options that can also be discussed at your consultation.

Step 3: Make your choice

If after the consultation you don't want to proceed, we won't stand in your way. If, on the other hand, you'd like to think it over - that's all right too. Either way, you'll leave our consultation assured that you have made the right choice, and we hope that we will have earned your trust to help you take the next step.
