Surgical Retina and Cataract
Mr Mahomed is proud to be part of an organisation providing excellent clinical services within a friendly and comfortable environment, which is conducive to providing good patient care. Mr Mahomed says, 'Seeing a happy patient is what makes my day. Enjoying what I do keeps me interested in my field.'
Having trained, and spent the early part of his career, in South Africa, Mr Mahomed has been a Consultant Ophthalmologist in Bradford since 1996. His special interests are: vitreoretinal surgery; retinal detachment; pars plana vitrectomy; membrane peeling and laser for diabetic retinopathy. Mr Mahomed also lectures to optometry students in Bradford, something that he finds very rewarding.
Credentials
Mr Mahomed has held a substantive post at Bradford Royal Infirmary since 1996 where he regularly gives tutorials to Senior House Officers and Registrars in Ophthalmology. Mr Mahomed has also held the following posts:
- Vitreoretinal Fellow and Honorary Senior Registrar (Bristol Eye Hospital, 1994-1995)
- Lecturer, Postgraduate MSc Optometry, Bradford University, 1997
Published work
Mr Mahomed has carried out in excess of 2 000 surgical cases and has contributed to 13 publications and congress presentations.
