Peter Atkinson, MBChB, DipOphth, FRCS, FRCOphth
Oculoplastics, Cataract.
Mr Atkinson has been a consultant at Yorkshire Eye Hospital since it opened in January 2003.
Mr Atkinson says, 'This purpose-built, dedicated eye hospital offers an ideal venue to practice the highest standard of ophthalmology.'
Originally from the Isle of Man, Mr Atkinson has been a Consultant Ophthalmologist in Bradford since 1995. As well as treating patients with general eye conditions, Mr Atkinson has a special interest in oculoplastics.
In his free time, Mr Atkinson particularly enjoys fly fishing and fly tying.
Credentials
Mr Atkinson has held a substantive post at Bradford Royal Infirmary and Airedale General Hospital since 1995. He has also held the following posts:
- Clinical Tutor, Royal College of Ophthalmologists, January 1998 - December 1999.
- Head of Service, Department of Ophthalmology, Bradford Royal Infirmary, January 2000 - December 2002.
Published work
Mr Atkinson has published in excess of 12 academic papers, and has given presentations to more than 18 learned societies.
