We continuously survey our patients and publish their feedback on a quarterly basis.
In our last survey of patients, 100% of patients agreed that:
"I have been thrilled and delighted on realising the result of my operation, and have nothing but admiration and amazement for the work being done at Yorkshire Eye Hospital. I hope to have my other eye treated as soon as possible by the same excellent surgeon. My best wishes for your future."
"I was impressed with the care, consideration and interest shown in my condition. Surgery is never pleasant but I was shown every consideration. Questions were answered when asked to explain a procedure and this was reassuring. I would recommend this hospital without reservation from my experience here."
"I found every aspect of the consultation and surgery of the highest standard."
"Excellent service from start to finish. All ways round - would recommend.
"A wonderful hospital with a totally dedicated staff."
"Staff were always polite, friendly, courteous - first class organisation. Very patient focused."
"On all my visits to YEH, I have found every member of staff helpful and courteous and understanding. The surroundings are excellent and encourage relaxation at times when patients can feel quite anxious."
"I have been in many hospitals and clinics and without doubt this is the best ever. The atmosphere is warm and cheerful and all the staff are exceptionally kind and patient to all. Thank you."
"Everything about the Eye Hospital in my opinion is first class. Everyone is very professional and friendly."
"It was a joy being treated at the YEH. The whole ambience was
good and relaxed."
By continually auditing its surgical results Yorkshire Eye Hospital can assure patients of the highest quality of care.
Here we compare our results with those from the National Cataract Pilot Electronic Study (Medisoft), the most up-to-date study in the UK of over 55,000 cases.
Patients achieving a visual acuity of 6/12 or better following cataract surgery (in eyes with no other eye disease) (1st June 2006 to 31st August 2007)
Rate of posterior capsule rupture during cataract surgery (1st June to 31st August 2007)
This is when the delicate membrane behind the lens breaks during cataract surgery. This will inevitably happen in some cases but a low rate is an indication of high quality skilled surgery.
Endophthalmitis
Endophthalmitis is a serious infection in the eye following surgery.
Previous surveys have shown a 1 in 350 endophthalmitis rate within the NHS
