Dermal Fillers
There are many types of Dermal Fillers available. These tiny injections into the skin lift and shape wrinkles and folds.
Dermal Fillers are tiny injections into the skin to lift and shape lines, wrinkles and folds. They can be used to contour the face and to create volume where it is needed most.
There are many types of dermal fillers available today but the most common ones are Hyaluronic Acid based or Collagen based. These are bio- degradable and will disappear without a trace over time.
The Yorkshire Eye Hospital uses a variety of approved dermal fillers and our team of cosmetic specialists will be able to advise you of the most suitable one for you.
No allergy test is necessary so you can be treated immediately.
Which areas can you treat?
Common areas are Nose to Mouth Lines, Frown Lines, Chin area, Lip pouts and fine lip shaping, Vertical Lip Lines and also contouring the face by augmenting cheekbones and the chin area.
How is the treatment performed ?
The gel is injected in tiny amounts using a very fine needle into the upper levels of the skin. The gel lifts the wrinkle or fold up to correct it.
For lips the lip line may be injected in the same way to gently define the shape a little more.
Lips can be made fuller by injecting a small amount into the "body" of the lip which will give thin lips more volume.
After the treatment a soothing cream is applied.
The treatment is quick and the results can be seen immediately.
Is it painful?
Most people find the injections relatively painless but it is quite common to use a light anaesthetic cream on the skin prior to treatment.
When treating the lips a local anaesthetic injection can be given if required.
What will I look like after treatment?
Immediately after the treatment you will be a little pink and slightly swollen.
This settles down very quickly and many people go back to work straight after their treatment.
Occasionally there is bruising especially if you have a tendency to bruise or if you take aspirin/anti coagulants regularly.
How long does it last?
This varies from patient to patient depending on the area to be treated and the amount of product injected.
Most treatments last from four months to ten months although the lip area commonly does not last this long due to it's mobility.
It is very common to come back after the initial treatment for a "top up" which then ensures more longevity in the skin.
What is the Cost?
Costs are dependant on how much you need and the strength of product recommended to you.
Our prices start at £180
