PRK / PTK

In PRK, the epithelium (top layer of the cornea) is gently removed and then the laser is then applied.

The epithelium then grows back over the  area during the next few days. After this treatment, there can be some pain for a few days and visual recovery can be slower than the other treatments mentioned above.

A consultation at the Yorkshire Eye Hospital is extremely thorough, you can expect to be at the hospital for up to 2 hours (also ensure there is someone to drive you home, as you may have drops in your eyes that will blur your vision). We use the Zyoptix advanced Wavefront technology to ensure you receive the most suitable treatment, to give the best result possible.

It is recommended before your consultation that you write down any questions you may wish to ask the surgeon

"Their expertise put me completely at ease. That's just what you'd expect from Yorkshire's only dedicated eye hospital."
